Why we source the top 1%.Because the unique growing conditions and horticultural ancestry of each coffee farming region impart their own unique flavor, founders Joe and Karen worked constantly to identify the best beans from each year's crops. Being a small family-owned business allows them to choose from the top 1% of the world’s coffee.

How often do we roast and blend?We roast to order, meaning we roast the amount of coffee needed based on the total amount of pounds of coffee that has been ordered. We roast every Monday. Our cut off is 12pm (pst) to receive orders. If we receive your order after our cut off time there is no guarantee your order will be full-filled- until the following week. We bag our coffee on Tuesday's and on Wednesday shipments and deliveries are made.

What's the best ratio to brew the perfect cup of coffee?Coffee-to-Water Ratio A general guideline is called the "Golden Ratio" - one to two tablespoons of ground coffee for every six ounces of water. This can be adjusted to suit individual taste preferences.

What does the traditional to modern scale mean on our labels?Our scale is meant to help direct consumers towards their preferred flavor notes in their coffee. Our traditional cups refer to notes found in the coffee, such as: chocolate, malt, cocoa, and caramel. Our modern cups refer to notes such as citrus, honey, floral, and fruits.

What is your return policy?We stand behind our coffee and what we do at Gold Rush Coffee Co., if for any reason you are not satisfied with your coffee beans, we will refund you for your order and replace your coffee free of charge. For merchandise if there is a defect we will accept returns within 15 days of purchase date for full refund.

Where do we source our green beans?We source our beans from around the globe. Our green bean broker is Royal Coffee out of Oakland, CA. They have been Gold Rush Coffee's broker since it's very beginning in the 1980's.
