Who We Are
Gold Rush Coffee, from the very beginning, has always been rooted in the value of what it means to be family. Founders Joe and Karen Paff, took their passion for coffee and built the very foundation of their family around coffee beans. Their mission was to seek out premium coffees from around the world, particularly those that came from small farms and focused on sustainable eco-logical growing practices. Joe and Karen wanted the farms they worked with to mimic their values they held as a family.
Starting out over thirty-five years ago in a converted barn in Petrolia, California- Gold Rush Coffee sought out to be the first organic roaster in Humboldt County. It was not before long that they recruited their young son, Zanobi. Zanobi worked alongside his father Joe, to understand the ins and outs of what it meant to be a true roast-master. This meant focusing on hand selected beans and taking a small batch approach to their operation, to ensure a quality product.
The trade secrets of what makes Gold Rush Coffee, is truly rooted in family and traditions.
To this day, this philosophy is still at the core of Gold Rush Coffee.
